Riding the AI Wave: From Supply Chains to Meaningful Change
Five years ago, I was knee-deep in supply chain chaos. The world was flipping upside down with the pandemic, and like many of us in corporate roles, I was juggling problems, pressure, and spreadsheets. Then came a glimmer of hope: my company proposed automating some of our repetitive processes. I was thrilled — finally, a chance to make things smarter and smoother. But just as quickly as the idea came, it was dismissed.
“Too expensive,” they said.
“Not a priority right now,” they said.
And I remember feeling this deep frustration. I could see the possibilities. I could feel how much time, energy, and soul we could save. But it wasn't the right moment — not for them, at least. For me, though? That was the moment. The moment I realized I wanted more. I didn’t want to keep putting out fires. I wanted to light new paths.
Why AI? And Why Now?
My curiosity started during the NFT and Meta hype — back when everyone was either investing in virtual real estate or learning to make pixelated cats valuable. 😅 But beneath the noise, something clicked. I started experimenting with automation tools like IFTTT, then got my hands on ChatGPT, Zapier, and Make.
Suddenly, I wasn’t just imagining improvements, I was building them.
And every time I created a new automation or AI-powered process, I saw a little glimpse of the future:
A future where our lives are easier, our work is more meaningful, and our connection to the planet and each other is deeper.
AI, to me, isn’t just about productivity. It’s about potential.
The Transition (a.k.a. The Wild Ride)
Switching careers isn’t exactly a peaceful stroll through the park. It’s more like jumping into a moving train while it's also being upgraded to a spaceship.
Impostor syndrome? Oh, we’ve met — and we still grab coffee sometimes.
Tech overwhelm? Hello darkness, my old friend.
But I’ve learned that this field is constantly evolving. There will always be someone who knows more than you — and that’s not a threat, that’s a superpower. We need different perspectives. We need community. We need rebels who don’t fit the mold but want to reshape it.
For me, the turning point was joining the University of Texas at Austin’s Data Science program. I found mentors, friends, and a network that believed in the same things I did. And thanks to my partner (you know who you are 😉), I stopped waiting to feel ready and just started diving in.
What My Supply Chain Past Taught Me
My 9+ years in supply chain, project management, and procurement weren’t wasted. They taught me exactly why we need AI.
I saw firsthand how repetitive tasks chip away at people’s energy and purpose. I saw how good people felt like numbers. And I knew we could do better.
With AI, we can free up our time, focus on creative and strategic work, and revive the human spirit in business. That’s not fluff, that’s design. That’s intention. That’s the future.
What Does “Sustainable AI” Mean?
It means smarter production. Greener homes. Meaningful education.
It means automating your laundry schedule so you can spend more time with your kids.
It means optimizing supply chains without burning out the humans running them.
It means building systems that respect people, planet, and progress.
AI isn’t about replacing people. It’s about reimagining what we can do when we’re supported by the right tools.
So... What Is Ecliptic?
I created Ecliptic Dataworks because I believe AI should be accessible.
Whether you’re a startup trying to automate your CRM, a nonprofit who wants to optimize outreach, or just someone with a weird side project and a dream, I’m here to build it with you.
Ecliptic means the orbital path of the Earth around the sun, a symbol of trajectory, alignment, and movement. That’s what we aim for: helping you get on the right track with AI and data so your work flows, not fights.
What We Actually Do (Spoiler: Cool Stuff)
We help businesses and creatives integrate AI into their operations without needing a PhD or a million-dollar budget. Things like:
Building custom chatbots for customer support
Automating repetitive workflows
Crafting dashboards and insights using your existing data
Designing AI-assisted tools tailored to your field
Basically, if it feels repetitive, overwhelming, or like it's keeping you from doing the real work you love — we want to fix it.
Who This Blog is For
This blog is for the curious. The career-switchers. The rebels.
The “I-don’t-know-where-to-start-but-I-want-in” crew.
The business owners feeling stuck and the students feeling behind.
It’s a journal. A roadmap. A collection of ideas from someone who’s still figuring it out — but doing it with heart, humor, and a whole lot of coffee.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
